Im a freelance Engineer who also runs a studio in the Surrey countryside. I have extensive experience in engineering, recording and live sound and have had my recordings played on national radio (Radio1, XFM, BB6, Total Rock) as well as on radio stations across Europe.
From an early age I spent most of my time listening to music, making music and messing around with tape recorders. At 16 I started to record my friends bands, quickly learning the balance between hanging out making music and getting the very best out of someone and their songs. Since then I have built up over a decades worth of experience and gone on to record albums for signed artists to bands with an almost non existent budget. I've also worked with BBC, ITV and Sony Playstation recording scores for television series and advertisements.
For the most part I see recording music as a documentary, capturing as much of it live as possible and making sure that at the end of it all, what's on disc at the end is what was in the artist's head(s) from the beginning.
