Go and buy this album! Drums for some of the songs were tracked here at Peak with the rest of the album being recorded, mixed and mastered by the band themselves. It truly is a beautiful record with some lush tones. here's a Link to their shop.

Crooked Mountain Crooked Sea

Spent the last few days tracking for the new crooked mountain crooked sea record. Keep an eye out for it soon through smalltownamerica. Its going to be an awesome display of songwriting having a fight with noise.

Back Home.

So I'm back home after a 15 hour journey home due to they ferry companies going crazy. It was an amazing trip and I got to record some amazing music. Here's a link to a few more photos from the sessions.
We ended up finishing the whole record at the airfield with all bass being recorded in the makeshift control room and then re-amping through two amps in the main room. We then spent the Saturday tracking vocals in a home made booth :) and finishing off the tracks with some samples of old speeches. Now I'm home i'll give it a week and then start the mixes..............

Recording In an Airport......

I've been in France since Sunday recording the new Granit 665 album. With the drums and guitar all finished I thought I'd post some pictures of everything we've been doing so far.... This Link  should take you to a Flickr gallery. We have been recording for the most part at the local airfield in one of the smaller hangers. We also spent a day at Mael's house (the drummer) recording all 10 songs in what was the local school house. Once that was done we decamped to the airfield to set the drums up again so we could hear the different sound each room gave the drums, with the hanger winning hands down :) Anywhooo we are about to leave to spend the day recording bass  so i'll update tonight with some info on how we did the guitars and how to stop air traffic!!
